About Us
IDIMA is a Research Centre established in 2005 and situated
in Estella, a town located in the north of
Spain
. We carry out research into environmental issues and aim
to become a reference centre at national level.
In December 2007 IDIMA became IDIMA Foundation, a private
non-profit association. The initial members of this association are LASEME (Enterprise
Association from Estella and its surroundings), SODENA (Navarra Development Society),
NAMAINSA
(Navarra and the Industrial Environment) and three private
constructor companies.
Nowadays, the foundation is opened to the incorporation of new partners.
These are IDIMA’s activity
lines:
1.
R&D process and product development
2.
Other R&D services
3.
Technical services in environmental issues
4.
Information, training and studies
5.
International projects
Our investigation focuses on two main areas which are Reusing,
Recycling and Residues Energy Valorization; and Minimization of residues from industrial
processes. From these, we have defined our 7 main lines of action, which are the
following ones:
- Out-of-use tyres
- industrial used oils
- manure and organic matter
- plastics
- construction and demolition residues
- out-of-use vehicles
- biotechnologies applied to the
environment
We consider the possibility of developing new investigation
lines according to the demand.
IDIMA has started a project in recycling out-of-use tyres
to use them in safety barriers for motorcyclists. At the same time, we are developing
new projects in the aforementioned areas. IDIMA’s main object is practical and tries
to solve the different problems regarding the companies’ management, their environmental
behaviour and legal obligations. This way, we convert residues into products and
improve the environmental situation, reduce costs in the residues management and
in the production processes.
